On this page, I discuss each service I provide and what you can expect from me. Please contact me for more information and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have!
BIRTH DOULA: This service is currently unavailable while I obtain certification. Please
check back in the new year!
If you hire me as your birth doula, you can expect me to make at least 2 prenatal visits and 1 postpartum visit (unless you hire me as your postpartum doula as well).
Optional Services I Provide
Prices: Service is currently free
POSTPARTUM DOULA:
As your postpartum doula, I follow the first forty days philosophy with a Catholic slant. The "first forty days" is a practice found in many cultures that emphasizes rest and nutrition during the first forty days after birth. Some cultures call this "Confinement" or "Cuarentena". During our consultation, I will explain more in-depth what this time entails, but in a nutshell, I try and make this time as prayerful for you as possible. I do not believe that doulas can or should strive to eradicate the hardships of postpartum, but instead alleviate some of its burden. I like to think of a doula as another St. Simon of Cyrene. He did not take the Cross away from Jesus, but simply bore the burden alongside Christ and supported Him in what only He could do. St. Philip Neri once said, "If you wish to come where I am going, that is, to glory, you must come this road. That is, through thorns". I would like to walk through those thorns with you!
Ways I Can Help
I am also a neutral party within the household at this time, meaning you can give me the job of telling unwanted visitors to (kindly) come again another day, or if you so desire, providing them with ways they can help around the house when they visit.
Optional Services I Provide
Prices:
Service is currently free. I charge a small percentage of gas mileage and any items I may need to purchase while serving you, but this will most likely be a very low cost.
DISCLAIMERS:
As a Catholic doula that applies her faith directly to her work, I reserve the right to refuse requests from clients if I believe this would be offensive to Our Lord. This includes requests to burn sage, implement yoga, anything New Age, etc. I would love to help you find an alternative, so please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Postpartum Doula Clients: please know that I make it a priority to attend daily Mass. I will always stop working to leave and go to Mass, this is non-negotiable. I would love to bring your kids though!
